Online conference for councillors

Being fictional Cllr Tweeps won’t be participating, but that does stop him being excited about, or promoting, the National Councillor Online Conference for Adult Social Care on the 16, 17 and 18 March. IDeA, who are running the event, have provided the following details:

The easy to use conference will enable you as councillors involved with adult social care to post your questions and queries around recent topics.

Members of the conference will have the opportunity to network with other councillors and officers, sharing knowledge and expertise around current issues.

The following experts in the field of adult social care will present short video presentations at different stages of the conference, and you will have the opportunity to interact and ask questions:

Cllr David Rogers, Chair of LGA Community Well-being Board
Jeff Jerome, National Director for Social Care Transformation
Rich Watt, Director of Operations, Essex Coalition of Disabled People
Tasman Oxlade, Programme Director, Self Directed Support Essex County Council

This is the first time the National Councillor Network has been held as an online conference and it is designed specifically for you as councillors. You can access the conference at any time of the day, posting questions or using the library resource to look up recent key documents in adult social care.

In the current economic climate an online conference will save you time and money, as well as reducing carbon emissions.

If you are interested in signing up for the conference, or would like further information please contact Tom Moody, tom.moody@idea.gov.uk, 0207 296 6884.
